Ministry of Human Development, Families and Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs Receives Donation of Fabric from Taiwanese Embassy

The donation is made possible by a charity foundation in Southern Taiwan through the coordination of the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to Belize. It is valued at BZ$94,602 and includes polyester, rayon and spandex, which will be distributed to women’s groups and entrepreneurs across the country by the Women and Family Support Department.

Governments Of Belize And The Republic Of China (Taiwan) Sign Economic Co-operation Agreement

The Government of Belize and the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) are pleased to announce the signing of an Economic Cooperation Agreement, September 30, 2020, at the Laing Building in Belize City. The Economic Cooperation Agreement was signed on Belize’s behalf by the Hon. Tracy Panton, Minister of State with responsibility for Investment, Trade and Commerce, witnessed by H.E. Remus Chen, Taiwan’s Ambassador to Belize, and signed on Taiwan’s behalf by Minister Wang Mei-Hua, Minister of Economic Affairs.

Taiwan Donates Medical Equipment to Belize as the Fight against COVID-19 Continues

As the world is still struggling with the severe repercussions of the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, Taiwan continues to demonstrate its good will and friendship to the Belizean people by donating 200,000 surgical masks, 10,000 N-95 Masks, 500 infrared forehead thermometers, 2,000 protective clothing, 4,000 isolation gowns, 2 automatic nucleic acid (PCR) analyzers, 720 PCR testing kits, and 10,000 nasal swabs to support the Government of Belize in its endeavors to contain COVID-19. This donation is valued at BZ$1 million.

Rotary Club of Taiwan Donates Medical Equipment

In a brief handing-over ceremony held on May 13, 2020, in Taipei, Taiwan, the Ambassador of Belize to the Republic of China (Taiwan) H.E. Diane Haylock received, on behalf of the Government of Belize, 200 protective gowns and 5,000 medical gloves from the Rotary Club of Taipei Nanlung. The donation was an initiative of a Taiwanese-Belizean, Mr. Feng-Yi Chang.

Taiwan Scholarship Program 2020

The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) is pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the Taiwan Scholarship Program 2020.
