Increase in traffic accidents prompts San Pedro Traffic Department to address speeding
Over the past weeks, Ambergris Caye has registered an alarming increase in golf cart traffic accidents, with several residents and visitors sustaining grave injuries. The San Pedro Traffic Department has stepped up to address the issue, saying it believes the incidents are caused by speeding.

Electric Scooters operating without the approval of San Pedro’s Traffic Department

The SPTD stated that they do not agree with the powered stand-up scooters and that they never issued any permits for their usage on the island. Although the SPTD does not approve of the new business, the proprietors were able to override their decision by obtaining a trade license from The San Pedro Town Council.
