Air Canada resumes Nonstop Service to Belize from Toronto
The Belize Tourism Board is proud to announce that Air Canada will resume flights to Belize from Toronto, Canada, starting 4th December 2022. The airline will offer nonstop seasonal service from Toronto on Sundays, then twice weekly in March 2023, using an Airbus A220-300.

Alaia Hotel honors employees with first-ever award ceremony
On Friday, June 17th, the luxurious, beachside Alaia Hotel in San Pedro Town, the first Marriott property in Belize, recognized the excellent work of their staff with an award ceremony at their seafront restaurant, The Deck. The awards recognized different employees for their extraordinary performance in the first quarter of this year within the sections/categories of Front of House Associate of the Month, Back of House Associate of the Month, Most Mentions on Trip Advisor, Manager for 1st Quarter, and Supervisor for 1st Quarter of the year.

BTB launches new training program to improve tourism services
On Monday, June 13th, and Tuesday, 14th, the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) inaugurated the ‘Elevate Training Program’ for tourism stakeholders under the theme ‘Defining Customer Service and Leadership.’ The project started with its first training/workshops in San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye, and will then engage stakeholders across the country. Elevate offers five sub-programs, including the Ambassador, BEST, Scale Up, Taste, and Safe training, all aimed at improving the Belizean tourism product.

Teakettle ATM Facilitation Center Inauguration
The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) officially inaugurated the newly constructed, Teakettle ATM Facilitation Center, on Monday May 30th, 2022 in Teakettle Village, Cayo. The inauguration of the ATM Facilitation Center marks the beginning of tourism growth and development within the village. The ATM Facilitation Centre will serve as a media centre, gift shop, and resting area, for the thousands of international and local visitors that visit the nearby Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) Archaeological Reserve on an annual basis.

The San Pedro Town Council honors island tourism industry institutions
The Angel Nuñez Auditorium was the venue for the first-ever San Pedro Tourism Awards on Saturday, May 28th. The initial location for the event was the Boca del Rio beach park, but due to inclement weather, the event was relocated. The occasion recognized key players in San Pedro's tourism industry by awarding them prizes in honor of their hard work and contribution to the island's growing economy. The awards covered the categories: People's Choice, Restaurant of the Year, Small Accommodation of the Year, Tour Guide of the Year, Tour Operator of the Year, and Hotel.

The Belize Tourism Board is delighted to announce that several hotels are winners of Tripadvisor Traveler’s Choice 2022 Best of the Best Awards! The awards honor destinations, activities, hotels, and restaurants, that are the top picks of travelers. Winners are selected based on the reviews and opinions collected from travelers worldwide throughout the year. The Traveler’s Choice Best of the Best is the highest honor with award winners being among the top 1% of listings on Tripadvisor.

BTB quarterly report indicates tourism is recovering
The latest quarterly tourism statistics released for both overnight arrivals and cruise passengers by the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) suggest that these industries are moving on the right track to recovery. According to the report, overnight tourist arrivals in March totaled over 41,000. While in the cruise ship sector, 48 ships made calls to Belize, bringing over 93,000 passengers.

San Pedro BTIA inaugurates new Tourism Information Center
Following a soft opening in March, the San Pedro Belize Tourism Industry Association Chapter (SPBTIA) inaugurated its Tourism Information Center (TIC) on Friday, April 29th. The opening hosted a group of invited guests, including Belize Tourism Industry Association board members and management, and representatives from the Belize Tourism Board in a ribbon-cutting ceremony officiating the operations of the TIC.
