Of modern design with tropical luxury in mind, The Phoenix is a far different place from Paradise Hotel, which had been in place since the 1960’s. The hotel changed hands briefly in the 1990’s, but at the start of the new millennium, it came back to the McDermott family. Upon re-ownership, Jerry McDermott began planning and designing The Phoenix. After his passing, daughter Kelly made it her mission to ensure that her father’s vision was completed, with help from her hard-working team.
