Weekly Weather Outlook for Belize, Jan. 30 – Feb. 6
Tuesday, January 31st, 2012
Valid Time: Monday, Jan. 30, 2012 until Monday, Feb. 6, 2012
Feature(s) of Interest:
A moist north-easterly to easterly airflow will prevail across the western and NW Caribbean during most of the working week, favouring mostly coastal showers, some heavy at times. The unstable conditions will persist over the coming weekend and will become much more conducive for showers in advance of another cold front moving towards the Yucatan Peninsula on Sunday and Monday of next week.
We can therefore expect the weather to continue generally cool and fair with cloudy spells accompanying some showers, especially over the sea, the central coast and the hills through Thursday. The showery weather will increase on Friday through Monday, as the airflow shifts to the NNE and advect more moisture. Showers will then spread over most areas.
Daily rainfall totals will range from 0.25-0.50 of-an-inch on Monday through Thursday, concentrated mostly over central coastal regions and hilly areas of the Cayo and the Stann Creek Districts. Rainfall totals will increase later on Friday through Monday, with daily totals in the range of 0.75- 1.25 inches.
