Belizean Children will Participate in CODICADER Under 15 Games

Wednesday, July 19th, 2017

The National Sports Council would like to inform the public that Belize will be participating in the upcoming CODICADER Under 15 Games scheduled to be held in Honduras from August 20-26, 2017. The President of CODICADER Licenciado Gerardo A. Fajardo Fernandez today sent an official invitation to Belize to participate in these upcoming games.
Belize had contacted the CODICADER President to request consideration for Belizean children to continue to participate in the CODICADER Games, even though Belize is unable to host the Disability Games (ages 16 to 19) previously slated for October 2017.
Given the success of the 2016 CODICADER Under 13 Games hosted by Belize in July 2016, the Government looks forward to having Belizean children represent us at the upcoming games.
The National Sports Council and the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture remain in communication with CODICADER to work out a solution that will enable Belize to continue to promote sports development among the children of Belize and the Central American Region.
For further information, please feel free to contact Mr. Ian Jones, Director of the National Sports Council at 227-2092 or Mr. Julio Llinas, Belize’s CODICADER Focal Point and member of the Board of the National Sports Council, at 622-5986.
