Children’s Week 2018: San Pedro celebrates our next generation

Throughout the week, schools across Belize held several activities aimed at promoting the importance of caring for a child’s wellbeing.

Mixed Martial Arts and Self-Defense course hosted at Kidtopia

The session was facilitated by MMA trainer Martin Dawson of Dawson’s Pit Fighters Training School, who taught the children basic fighting techniques to better prepare them in a vulnerable situation.

It is the island’s first-ever kids club/drop-off center that consists of a playground area, arts and crafts station, kitchen, mini library, and video game station, alongside a whole bunch of other fun-filled activities that will keep your children happy and entertained.

U.S. Embassy Announces the 2018 Cohort of the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) Professional Fellows Program

This program will take place in September-October and will bring 250 young leaders from 36 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean to the United States.

70 social workers, childcare providers, and youth workers in southern and northern Belize have been trained in basic suicide prevention strategies.
