Update: General Elections to be held on March 7th, 2012

The Prime Minister, in a state of the nation address, announced officially the dates for General Elections. He has advised the Governor General of Belize to dissolve the National Assembly on the 3rd of February, where a writ will be issued for Nominations to be held on February 17th and General Elections to be held on March 7th. Prime Minister Dean O. Barrow said,

Having the two in one will thus save the taxpayer money, and mean a single, quick healing process. Whoever wins can then get on straightaway with the business of binding up wounds and uniting our country; of governing in the best interest of all Belizeans; of continuing to meet the challenges of the unfavorable international climate.”
