San Pedranos usher in Belize’s 41st Independence anniversary with flag raising ceremony and Caribbean entertainment

As the clock ticked closer to midnight on Tuesday, September 20th, the Honourable Louis Sylvestre Sporting Complex in San Pedro Town started filling up with islanders for the traditional pre-independence program. This year, Belize celebrates its 41st Independence Day, and revelers on the island brought in the special celebration with patriotism and Caribbean entertainment with the Trinidadians DJ Ana and Ultra Simmo.

United States and Belize Sign Open Skies Air Transport Agreement

On October 16, 2018, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Keith Gilges and Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Manuel Heredia signed the first bilateral Air Transport Agreement between the United States and Belize.
