The purpose of the workshop was to identify current and future risks, the impacts of climate change on communities and ecosystem services, understand key species (and their thresholds) and livelihoods to be impacted by climate change and to understand benefits of ecosystem-based adaptation (EBA) to communities.

Cold front hits San Pedro and the region with force
Island residents and visitors experienced an unseasonal storm on Sunday, January 27th as a cold front made its way across Belize. Carrying winds of 5-15 knots, the cold spell made trees sway violently and caused damages to homes and properties on the leeward coast of Ambergris Caye.

Belize weathermen prepare for rains and hurricanes
The 2018 Atlantic Hurricane season officially started on Friday, June 1st, and weather experts are predicting an average to above-average intensity hurricane season for this year. Of 10-16 named storms, 5-9 could become hurricanes and 1-4 could strengthen into major hurricanes.
