Changes in Pump Price of Fuel Products

The price for premium gasoline, regular gasoline and kerosene will register decreases as follows: Premium gasoline will decrease by 4 cents from $10.78 to $10.74 per gallon; Regular gasoline will decrease by 2 cents from $10.07 to $10.05 per gallon; Kerosene will decrease by 18 cents from $ 7.53 to $ 7.35 per gallon. The price for diesel will remain unchanged at $9.90 per gallon.

BIDC Expo promotes Barbados’ products to Belize

Belize presently enjoys a favorable trade balance with Barbados which buys more Belize exports than Belize imports Barbados. Ten Barbados companies promoted their products and services, seeking Belizean partners, at a two-day trade Expo hosted by the Barbados Investment & Development Corporation (BIDC) in collaboration with BELTRAIDE, at the Best Western Biltmore Plaza Hotel in Belize City on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 12-13.

Belize removed from EU tax haven blacklist

Belize is back in good graces with the European Union (EU) after its Economic and Financial Affairs Council removed the country from the list of non-cooperative jurisdictions on Friday, November 8th. This change came after the recent amendment to the International Business Act, along with the promulgation of the Economic Substance Act.

SPTC addresses non-registered property owners and those owing taxes

In early October of this year, the Government of Belize (GOB) announced that it would be implementing the Land Tax Amnesty Programme, after it was passed by the House of Representatives and approved by the Senate in September.While the programme served as an engine to write off millions of dollars in taxes, it also offers the opportunity for land owners who owe property taxes to settle or manage the arrears within a period of six months beginning from October 2019.

The Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) of the European Union (EU) has agreed to remove Belize from the EU list of non-cooperative jurisdictions (the ‘blacklist’).

BTB Mid-year report shows impressive growth

Belize’s tourism industry continues to show impressive growth according to the Belize Tourism Board’s (BTB) recent mid-year tourism insight performance release. It is the first digitally interactive publication produced by BTB to provide the tourism industry with a snapshot of tourism trends occurring over the first six months of 2019.
