Traffic congestion in San Pedro a never-ending problem; SPTC sets regulations for large trucks

The problem with traffic congestion in San Pedro Town continues to increase despite past and present administration efforts. Now that students have returned to in-person classes, it is imperative to address vehicular congestion during peak hours to ensure their safety and that of other pedestrians, including tourists. As such, the San Pedro Town Council (SPTC) has set a schedule for large delivery trucks to alleviate the traffic and avoid potential accidents.

SPTC to implement parking restrictions on Pescador Drive

Effective February 1, 2020, drivers will be required to parallel park on Pescador Drive. This new measure, implemented by The San Pedro Town Council (SPTC) and the island’s traffic department, seek to ensure the safety of all pedestrians, particularly children, who used the narrow street on their way to school.

Golf cart rentals using up public parking areas

Residents are unhappy with the rental companies that are using the public parking area to keep their golf cart fleet. They believe that public parking areas should not be overwhelmed by these businesses, and instead keep their rental fleet in their garages from where the vehicles can be delivered to their clients.
