On February 19, 2021, Hon. Eamon Courtenay, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration, co-chaired the inaugural meeting of the CARICOM-Canada Foreign Ministers’ Group along with Hon. Marc Garneau, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada.

Belize holds first virtual trip with Canadian Press

In the face of the COVID-19 crisis and in preparation for the reopening of the PGIA, the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) recognized the importance of reaching out to potential visitors in its key target markets using the various international media outlets. It was against this backdrop, that the BTB held its first ever virtual trip for the Canadian press on September 22, 24, 29 and October 1, 2020. The main objective of the virtual press trip was to provide a virtual experience for journalists to learn about Belize’s recovery plan, meet with key industry partners and embrace Belize’s great outdoors while at home.

Governments of United Kingdom and Canada and PAHO/WHO donate over USD$271,135 of PPEs for COVID-19 Response in Belize
