U.S. Military forces conduct humanitarian and disaster relief exercise in Belize
Currently, the United States Southern Command (U.S. SOUTHCOM) is conducting the Keel-Billed Toucan (KBT), a U.S. military humanitarian and disaster relief exercise in partnership with the Government of Belize. The training is near Ladyville, north of Belize City, from January 7th to the 21st, and is led by the Joint Task Force-Bravo (JTF-Bravo), a unit based in Soto Cano Air Base in Honduras.

The Ministry of the Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform and the Love Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for a good governance, transparency and ethics curriculum at an official ceremony on February 18, 2021.

Media Literacy Forum hosted by Government of Belize, Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan), and the U.S. Embassy
A media literacy virtual forum was held on September 15th, by the Government of Belize Press Office in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the U.S. Embassy in Belize under the theme Navigating the Changing Media Landscape in Democracies: Fake news vs. Facts. The purpose of the public forum is to discuss contemporary issues facing governments, journalists, and everyday citizens navigating the opportunities and challenges presented by digital media. The forum also addresses the dangers of fake news and disinformation and how to combat them, while raising awareness of the need for widespread media literacy training.

Belizean-American news anchor Kendis Gibson speaks to hundreds of students at SPHS
Gibson encouraged the students to find their passion and pursue it. Most importantly, he assured them that they can achieve whatever they wish without leaving their hometown.
