Representatives of Japanese multinational air conditioner (AC) manufacturing company Daikin were on Ambergris Caye on Thursday, November 17th, offering training to about 25 AC contractors and installers. The seminar took place at Coco Beach Resort in Northern Ambergris Caye. Technicians from San Pedro Town and mainland took advantage of the free training sessions learning how to work with the new brand being introduced to Belize.
Daikin is a leading innovator and provider of advanced, high quality air conditioning solutions for residential, commercial and the industrial sector. The brand is new to Belize, thus, the need to introduce local technicians to the brand in order to capture the Belizean market. According to Unit Sales Manager for Latin America, Hugo Martinez, the company is trying to expand into the region, with the aim to become a leading provider of Daikin products. “This training, which is also a refresher for the technicians, is also a good opportunity for them to get to know our products and learn the right procedures on how to install them,” said Martinez. “They have many years of experience working with AC Units, but the training was necessary in order for them to become certified to work with Daikin products.”
According to organizers, Daikin becomes the first company to come into the country and sponsor trainings for Belizean technicians. Jahir Valdez Daikin Unit Technician is satisfied about the training. “These technicians are now certified to work with our equipment and we feel very satisfied, and confident that they are ready to do a great job with our products,” said Valdez.
All participants were grateful for the opportunity, stating that even though they have been working with AC units for many years in their careers, it is always a good idea to have refreshers, especially when it comes to new brands.
As the brand begins to make its presence in Belize, more training is scheduled to take place on the island, including a trouble-shooting session. Daikin believes that by having well trained personnel in the country, customers will have more confidence in the product, as they will have the satisfaction of reliable technicians ready to address any issues.
Daikin is distributed by Bachi Engineering Corporation which is a technology based company with a engineering team in Miami Florida USA. The corporation is partnered with Caye Supplies Store on Ambergris Caye and units of the brand are available on the second floor where there is a showroom open to the public for viewing.
