Hope Haven Women Skills Training on manicure and pedicure launched

On Monday, September 4th, opening ceremonies were held at the Sunbreeze Hotel for a four-week manicure and pedicure training that will benefit 30 women. The project will also aid the young ladies with marketing skills, work ethics, budgeting, and how to start and manage a business.

Prime Minister Meets with Green Climate Fund and Global Green Growth Institute

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea invited the Prime Minister Hon. John Briceño, Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment, to be the keynote speaker at the World Climate Industry Expo - Leaders’ Summit in Busan, Republic of Korea. Women in Business course graduates 11 island women

A group of 11 young ladies were recognized with their certificates of completion at the Hidden Treasure restaurant on Friday, March 24th, after successfully participating in a training dubbed 'Women in Business.' The preparation, which initially was to last for two weeks, ended up extending to three weeks. During this time, the participants learned marketing skills, practiced good work ethics, and learned the essentials needed to start a small business.

On Monday, February 27th, a two-week training named 'Women in Business' was officially launched at the Hidden Treasure restaurant. The training will see several young ladies learning marketing skills, how to start a small business, and practice work ethics.

Government assures that former Guantanamo Bay detainee Majid Khan poses no threat to Belize

It has been a week since the arrival of Majid Khan, a former al-Qaeda courier, to Belize. The 42-year-old Pakistani was held in the high-security United States (U.S.) facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, for over 15 years on terrorism-related charges. After completing his prison time, he was relocated to Belize following negotiations between the governments of the U.S. and Belize. Upon his arrival, Foreign Minister Honourable Eamon Courtenay assured the Belizean people that Khan's presence in the country posed no threat to national security.
