Long-awaited Digital Connect Center opens in Caye Caulker

On Tuesday, July 25th, the village of Caye Caulker in Belize celebrated the official launch of its innovative Digital Connect Center. This center is a pioneering initiative and the first of its kind that will allow residents easy access to technology for everyday needs. The milestone was made possible through a collaborative partnership between the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy, Logistics, E-Governance, the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan), and Area Representative Honorable Andre Perez.

Launch of the E-Bus Service and Charging Depot of the E-Mobility Pilot Project

July 19, 2024 marks a significant milestone for the residents of Belize City as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy, Logistics, and E-Governance (MPUELE), the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Transport through the Department of Transport (DoT), and the Belize City Council (BCC) with funding support from the European Union (EU), launched the e-bus service and charging depot of the E-Mobility Pilot Project.

Belize Postal Service Launches ‘Track and Trace’ App

On March 14th, the Belize Postal Service, under the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy, Logistics and E-Governance (MPUELE), launched the first phase of its digitization initiative ─The “Track and Trace '' Application.

The first electric bus arrives at the Belize Western Border

Through the Electric Mobility Pilot Project, the first electric bus arrived at the Belize Western Border. Funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Belize City Council (BCC), the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy, Logistics, and E-Governance (MPUELE) and the Department of Transport (DoT), this is the first of five buses, with the second bus arriving later this week, that will be the foundation to support e-mobility expansion in the country.

Government of Belize and UNICEF Enter into Partnership to Transform Education Through Technology

The Government of Belize officially partnered with Giga: a global initiative by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to connect every school to the Internet and every young person to information, opportunity, and choice.
