San Pedro community says goodbye to OIC Sandra Bowden

After over a year of heading the Coastal Executive Unit, Superintendent Sandra Bowden is leaving San Pedro Town. Bowden, Officer in Charge of the Coastal Executive Unit for both the San Pedro and Caye Caulker Police Formation, will now be stationed at Belmopan City at the Belize Police Department Headquarters. To commemorate her departure, community members and co-workers hosted a farewell party in Bowden’s honour on Wednesday, August 26th.sandra-bowden-goodbye-1
At the party, several community member shared words of appreciation for Bowden’s work in San Pedro. “Even though she is leaving, she will always be welcome here in San Pedro. I am happy to have worked with such a strong woman,” said Deputy Office in Charge, Assistant Superintendent Henry Jemmott.
Bowden first arrived in San Pedro in July 2015 and through her time, fostered a strong bond with the police and the community. “It was an honour to work here. I hope that my police officers continue working to the best of their abilities and together with the community. I’m grateful to all the San Pedro community who worked hand in hand with me and the rest of the formation to make this island a better place. Let’s keep that going and work together towards a safer island for everyone,” said Bowden.
