Belize among ten countries developing regional school feeding policy in the Caribbean
The regional school feeding project of the Brazil-FAO International Cooperation carried out an international technical mission in the Dominican Republic with the participation of 10 countries including Belize, from March 13 to 17. The mission sought to facilitate exchange of strategies to improve the quality of Latin American and Caribbean school feeding programmes.

National Meteorological Service of Belize Receives Weather Equipment
On February 7, 2023, the Government of Belize, through the Ministry of Blue Economy and Civil Aviation (MBECA), in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Representative for Belize and Belize’s National Designated Authority to the Green Climate Fund (GCF), handed-over the National Meteorological Service of Belize (NMS) with weather equipment to monitor sea level and upgrade some functionalities of the ‘SURFACE’ Climate Database Management System (CDMS).

Government of Belize Receives an Extensive Profile to Transform its Food Systems
The Government of Belize through the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise is now poised to transform its food systems using an evidence-based and extensive assessment completed earlier this year. The Belize Food Systems Profile: Catalysing the Sustainable and Inclusive Transformation of Food Systems document was formally handed over to the Government of Belize during a ceremony at the Yo Creek Agriculture Station on June 22, 2022.

Women of Coastal Fishing Community to Participate in 5th Women in Fisheries Forum
The Government of Belize, through the Ministry of Blue Economy and Civil Aviation (MBECA), in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Representative for Jamaica, the Bahamas and Belize, Belize’s National Designated Authority to the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and Wildlife Conservation Society, organized the 5th Women in Fisheries Forum (WIFF): Gender and Climate Change – Understanding the Link. The event took place on June 15 and 16, 2022, at the Umaya Resort and Adventures in Placencia and Monkey River Village.
