Regulations set to enhance safety at Central Park Playground
In April 2023, the San Pedro Town Council (SPTC) installed a new playground set at Central Park. The playground brought much joy to island children and families who visit the park daily for recreational purposes. However, only nine months later, it had to be removed for repairs after it received damage that could cause accidents. The SPTC is now reinstalling the playground and has set new guidelines to ensure the children's safety and secure the facilities' longevity.

Letter to the Editor: Demanding of our police and civic authorities to safeguard our community
"I am calling upon the elders and other religious leaders of our community to join me in demanding of our police and civic authorities the following:
Central Park is meant to be a sacred space for our families, our children, and our guests. But it has become a den of drug dealers, gangs and drunks. As a community, I believe we must demand a permanent police booth in Central Park to act as a Deterrent.
Secondly, any bar or nightclub anywhere in San Pedro, but especially around Central Park, that becomes a hub for gang activity and the sale of drugs, must be shut down permanently. Central Park is one of the few spaces we have for our children, and it must be a safe zone for families and guests."
