Belize Mission Project medical services benefit thousands of islanders
A team of specialists from the United States, part of the Belize Mission Project (BMP), provided free medical services in San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye, from January 20th to 24th. They were joined by local volunteers and specialists offering medical, audiology, and dental clinics.

Belize Port Authority Hosts Maritime Summer Camp
The Belize Port Authority (BPA) hosted a week-long summer camp for the youth of Ambergris Caye from August 5th to August 9th. The camp took place at San Pedro Lions Den and attracted 28 children. The program aimed to involve the campers in enriching maritime experiences and provide them with insight into the BPA's daily activities.

San Pedro Justice of the Peace holds general meeting and participate in training
The San Pedro Association of Justices of the Peace (JP) and Commissioners of the High Court held their general meeting on Wednesday, May 15th, at the San Pedro Lions Den. The gathering also included a training session covering signing documents related to land purchases and transfers.

San Pedro Liquor License Board hosts annual liquor license renewal meeting
Hundreds of business owners attended the annual Liquor Licensing Board meeting at the San Pedro Lions Den on Tuesday, January 30th , to renew their liquor licenses. For many, it was a swift routine renewal, while others were notified about specific regulations they must adhere to in order to hold a liquor license. San Pedro Liquor Board members reviewed the license applications before approval. The meeting, headed by Chairman Gerardo Reyes included the presence of the San Pedro Police Formation, Health Department, and Fire Service. Following the meetings, the liquor board said that 75% of the applications were renewed and is in the process of approving others in the coming days.

Belize Mission Dental project back in San Pedro
A team of dental specialists and volunteers, mainly from the United States of America (USA), visited San Pedro Town to provide services to those needing them at no cost. The team of specialists, called the Belize Mission Project, visits every year, and this time, the group of dentists in San Pedro was joined by two islanders in the dentistry field.

San Pedro Lions Club welcomes 2024 with annual all-night party
While many were celebrating the last day of 2023, one of the biggest parties in town was happening at the San Pedro Lions Den on Barrier Reef Drive. The San Pedro Lions Club held their annual New Year's Eve dance on December 31st with a grand dance featuring one of the country's most popular bands- Super Furia!

20 deserving islanders receive wheelchairs via the Rotary Club of Ambergris Caye
The Rotary Club of Ambergris Caye, through a partnership with Chair The Love, distributed 20 new wheelchairs to some of the most deserving island residents. The generous donation coincided with the Christmas season of giving and saw the distribution of 250 wheelchairs nationwide.

San Pedro Lions Club to host 44th National Convention
The San Pedro Lions Club is proud to host the 44th Zone 59 Lions Club National Convention starting Friday, May 12th. The weekend will see a variety of social activities, workshops, and seminars, ending with a grand parade and a closing ceremony on Sunday, the 14th.
