Joe Pate wins third place at Pan American Cocktail Tournament in Venezuela
Island bartender Joseph Joe Pate is returning home with a third-place medal after competing at the Pan American Cocktail Tournament in Valencia, Venezuela. Pate from Nauti Crab Bar and Grill competed against the best of the best from several other countries participating in the prestigious tournament. The other top participants taking second and first place were from Uruguay and Spain, respectively.

Bartender Joseph' Joe' Pate of Nauti Crab Bar and Grill is currently in Valencia, Venezuela, competing at the Pan American Cocktail tournament. Pate and Belize Bartenders Association's (BBA) President Ricael Moran have been preparing for this international event and are doing their best to represent the Jewel.

During a press briefing on Wednesday, June 15th, the first since he took office in 2020, Prime Minister the Honourable Dr. John Briceño said he did not chastise the United States (US) President Joseph Biden during his speech at the recent Summit of the Americas. Briceño made headlines when he openly criticized the decision of the US host to exclude Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela from the summit held June 6-10 in Los Angeles, California, on the west coast of the US.
