Atlantic Bank San Pedro receives bomb threat

Part of Barrier Reef Drive and Pescador Drive are currently on lockdown following a bomb threat issued to Atlantic Bank San Pedro Branch. Reports of the threat emerged on Friday, January 8th shortly before 4PM. The San Pedro Police Department and San Pedro Fire Department personnel were quickly deployed to secure the area and evacuate civilians.Atlantic Bank San Pedro Belize Bomb Threat-4
San Pedro Police has told The San Pedro Sun that they are currently awaiting the arrival of the Belize Defense Force Bomb Squad to inspect both the Atlantic Bank main office and sub office for explosive devices. Police are also investigating who made the threat call by tracing the phone number.

Until an all clear can be given by the BDF Bomb Squad, residents and visitors are asked to avoid the area since they still do not know if an explosive device is active in either building. The San Pedro Traffic Department are assisting in the flow of traffic.
