San Pedro’s Amir Peña Claims BBSL Qualifier Win, Set for El Salvador Open

Casey’s Boatyard Bar and Grill in San Pedro hosted the 2025 Belize Billiards Sporting League (BBSL) Qualifier for the El Salvador 9-Ball Open on September 6, bringing together 16 of the island’s top billiards players in a competitive double-elimination tournament. The Belize Billiards Sporting League (BBSL) officially sanctioned the event and was recognised for elevating Belizean talent on the international pool scene.

Site Visit Conducted on Proposed Location for Three New Island Schools

Area Representative Honorable Andre Perez led a site visit to the location designated for three new schools on northern Ambergris Caye. The proposed site, about seven miles north of downtown San Pedro, has been identified for the construction of a preschool, primary school, and high school. The broader project also includes a preschool and high school in Caye Caulker. Joining the visit were the Minister of Education, Honorable Oscar Requena, and Cabinet colleagues Honourable Ramon Cervantes and Honorable Oscar Mira.
