A female tourist was attacked by an estimated 10 to 12-foot crocodile while swimming in the sea on Monday, August 12th after 9PM.

San Pedro Fire Department contains two fires

The San Pedro Fire Department (SPFD) responded to two separate fires reported in downtown San Pedro and the San Pedrito Sub-division. The first incident happened inside one of the rooms at the Conch Shell Inn off Barrier Reef Drive on Wednesday, August 7th. The second was on n Thursday, August 8th at around 4:30AM, when a fire was reported in San Pedrito.

37-year-old Edwin Ricardo Mai died on Saturday, July 6th while swimming off the coast of downtown San Pedro. Although witnesses rushed him to the nearest clinic in the vicinity, he was pronounced dead on arrival around 3PM.

Belize Solid Waste Management Authority weighs in on fire at San Pedro’s Transfer Station

In a phone interview with The San Pedro Sun, BSWMA’s communication officer Tyronne Chimilio stated that the fire on June 21st was accidental, that the issue had been addressed and that they were now waiting on an official report from the fire department.

Rescue Team locates and rescues missing girl at sea

On Thursday, June 6th, The Rickilee Response and Rescue Team (Triple R) along with local authorities managed to find and rescue a young girl that had gone missing at Secret Beach north of San Pedro Town. The young female tourist had gone kayaking with her father without a life jacket, and after losing her, the dad returned to Secret Beach looking for help.
