Columbus University School of Medicine hosts media in response to de-listing by Medical Council of India

The joint owners of the Washington University of Health and Science in San Pedro Town and Columbus Central University School of Medicine held a media open day at Columbus University’s Ladyville campus on Monday, showing the world that they are fully equipped to teach medicine. The schools recently came under fire when rumors were circulated that the schools did not have the proper facilities to teach medicine, which prompted the Medical Council of India to de-list both schools.

The Belize Bank Limited Donates $50,000 to the University of Belize To Acquire a Steel Band

The Belize Bank Limited, on January 29th, 2020, made a $50,000 donation to the University of Belize (UB) to fund a University Steel Band, the “UB Steel”. This generous donation will enable the University to acquire pans for the steel band and will aid in allowing culture, the arts and entertainment to grow at UB, giving Faculty, Staff, Students and Alumni an opportunity to participate fully.

Belize to improve the quality and gender equity in schools with IDB support

The Prime Minister of Belize, Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow, and Country Representative of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Dr. Cassandra T. Rogers, signed an agreement on January 27, 2020, to implement a US$10 million loan to improve the quality and gender equity of education at the primary and secondary levels in the country.
