Pilot episode of La Isla Bonita Telenovela along with other Belizean films to debut at Barbados’ Carifesta

Three Belizean films have been selected to be featured at Carifesta, the annual Festival of Arts in Barbados. The festival takes place from August 17th to the 27th and will feature Caribbean culture, music, literary arts, visual arts, theatre, dance and film. La Isla Bonita Telenovela and ‘I Had To do It, will make its debut at the festival on Saturday, August 19th and will have a second screening on Wednesday, August 23rd , while, ‘Manna,’ will be screen on Monday, August 21st ,Wednesday, August 23rd , and Saturday, August 26th at the Olympus VIP Theatres.
La Isla Bonita was filmed in San Pedro Town in the summer of 2014. The cast was mainly made up of residents of San Pedro Town, who excelled in their roles. The pilot episode premiered on September 5th of that same year at the island’s Paradise Theatre. A total of 25 episodes have been scheduled for the production of the series. The completion of the series has been stalled for some time, but efforts to start filming the other episodes are ongoing.
