Authorities enforcing shop liquor license laws, closing stores at 9pm
In recent weeks, San Pedro Town has seen a change in the opening and closing hours of several stores on the island. This is a result of the slow but effective enforcement of the new law mandating that all stores with a Shop license must close and are not permitted to sell alcohol past 9PM.

SCA students conduct beach clean-up in northern Ambergris Caye
A large portion of the Mexico Rocks Marine Reserve beachside in northern Ambergris Caye was cleared of a large amount of garbage on Saturday, January 25th during a clean-up conducted by a group of students from Belize City’s Saint Catherine Academy (SCA) and volunteers from San Pedro Town.

The San Pedro Tiger Sharks (current NEBL champions) opened the season on January 18th with a big win, but on Friday, the island team could not keep the momentum going and fell short against Belize Hurricanes 85-77 at the Belize City Civic Center.
