A new IDB study from the series The future of work in Latin America and the Caribbean estimates that Belize will need 9,000 teachers, 1,000 doctors and 2,000 nurses by the year 2040. The study also highlights that jobs in education and health are good quality jobs, especially for women.

In San Pedro Town, the ‘ICJ Be Informed’ session was hosted at the Angel Nuñez Auditorium on Thursday, November 29th. For the first time in Belize, largest designated US Department of State Exchange Visitor Program for teachers, Participate, is recruiting teachers from Belize to work in schools in United States for 3 to 5 years and expand their professional capacities in the next school year, beginning in August 2019.
