San Pedro welcomes the September Celebrations with a flag-raising ceremony and street festival

San Pedro Town, one of the most patriotic municipalities in Belize, welcomed the month of September with the annual flag-raising ceremony that marks the beginning of a celebration that will honor many key events throughout the month, culminating with Independence Day. The beginning of the September Celebrations on the island also included the first-ever San Pedro Street Fest held on Barrier Reef Drive.

SP BTIA and partners host Beer Fest with Rice & Beans Competition

The Belize Tourism Industry Association San Pedro Chapter (SP BTIA) is excited to announce its Beer Fest with Rice and Beans competition. The event, co-sponsored by Bowen & Bowen, The San Pedro Town Council, the Belize Tourism Board, and the Capricorn Restaurant, will be from 4-9PM on Saturday, August 5th, at the Capricorn Restaurant, 2.5 miles north of San Pedro Town.

San Pedro’s mothers were delighted on Saturday, May 13th, with an extravaganza of entertainment courtesy of the San Pedro Town Council (SPTC). The annual celebration at the Honourable Louis Sylvestre Sporting Arena saw various performances, tons of giveaways, and the best of local music to dance the evening away.

From the Passion of Christ play led by the San Pedro Catholic Church to recreational activities on the beach and the yearly kayak race to Secret Beach, San Pedro did not disappoint and welcomed hundreds of visitors over the weekend.

Carnaval de San Pedro is back

The traditional island celebration, ‘El Gran Carnaval de San Pedro,’ takes place February 18th through the 21st, with big parties, street dances (comparsas), and painting. The annual celebration will also include a Carnaval market day at the Honourable Louis Sylvestre Sporting Complex, where events like a cocktail competition will be held.

Estel’s 11th annual BBQ Cook-off competition brings tasty grilling and people together

On Tuesday, January 31st, Bar-B-Que (BBQ) lovers had a date at the popular Estel's Dine by the Sea restaurant to savor some of the best food and witness the best masters of the grill. The 11th Estel's BBQ Cook-off tested grill masters competing for People's Choice, Judge's Choice, Griller's Choice, and Grand Master.

Thriller movie filmed in Caye Caulker to premier in Belize City

In June 2022, Caye Caulker was the setting to produce a thriller movie called ‘Let Us Make Eve.’ The film featured a Belizean and international cast, with the well-known San Pedrano Horacio Louis Guerrero as one of the main characters and executive producer. The movie is now ready for screening, and on Friday, January 20th, the world premiere of Let US Make Eve will take place at The Ramada Princess Hotel in Belize City.
