In October, Blue Water Grill (BWG), together with The Phoenix and Wine de Vine, will be holding their monthly donation drive for a grand project: an ultrasound machine for the Dr. Otto Rodriguez San Pedro Polyclinic II. Many community members cannot afford to visit a private clinic, and according to BWG, this could result in many negative outcomes, particularly for women seeking prenatal care.
Since Dr. Otto Rodriguez San Pedro Polyclinic II does not have an ultrasound machine, and it costs $32,000 to obtain one, these three businesses will be pledging the initial $16,000. BWG is hoping to receive a matching amount in donations in order to purchase an ultrasound machine for the clinic. If the goal is not met in October, BWG will continue the effort in November.
As to their August donation drive, the San Pedro Kids Club, organized by Britney O’D6aniel, was the recipient of $1,612. BWG customers gave $397, which they matched, and guests of The Phoenix donated $409, which they also matched. The total was handed over to the club, which is a new after-school program geared for children in primary school.
BWG thanks all of their great customers who help make a difference in San Pedro. If you wish to contribute, donations of any amount can be made in person at BWG during normal business hours or online at www.bluewatergrill.com/community
