The Island Football League (IFL) is in its eighth week of games, with only three more weeks in the season. The competition features ten top football clubs, including Conquerors FC, Sea Bulls FC, Terror Squad FC, Shark Shooters FC, Alia FC, G-Strikers FC, Sharks FC, Vince Assassins FC, Joker Football Club, and Black Sails FC. Conquerors FC is leading the championship race with 22 points, followed closely by Sea Bulls FC with 20 points. These teams, along with the others, are all vying for the championship trophy.

With this win, the Belize City team must win one more game to secure their ticket to the finals and compete for the championship.

Two teams will advance to the finals after a best-out-of-three series in this tournament stage. The first match between the Tiger Sharks and the Belize City Defenders will occur on Sunday, May 19th, at the Belize City Civic Center at 4PM. The event was held on May 4th and 5th at the Marion Jones Stadium. Contreras returned to the island with a gold and silver medal, a testament to his athletic prowess.
