Renovations underway for the basketball court at Boca del Rio
The condition of a basketball court is crucial for the game's overall quality. Recognizing its importance, RE/MAX Belize Real Estate has partnered with the San Pedro Town Council (SPTC) to renovate the Boca del Rio Park basketball court. This initiative began on October 9th with repairs to the concrete flooring. The comprehensive revitalization plan includes a new court design inspired by the Belizean flag and replacing two basketball rims. The goal is to create a safe and engaging environment for the youth of Ambergris Caye, promoting access to high-quality outdoor sports and encouraging positive recreational activities.

SPTC hosts Family Fun Day 2024
On Sunday, May 19th, the San Pedro Town Council (SPTC) held a community family fun day at Boca Del Rio Park. The event started shortly after 11PM and ended at 4PM. Several island families attended, and the day was filled with fun activities, performances, music, games, and prizes.

2023 Love FM Christmas Parade brings holiday cheers to the island
With San Pedro’s first responders leading the way, the Love FM Christmas Parade brought cheer, music, and bright lights to the streets of San Pedro. Held on Sunday, December 17th, the special holiday event saw island establishments coming together to bring joy to the community. The parade started shortly after 7PM from Boca del Rio Park and went through Laguna Drive onto Pescador Drive and Barrier Reef Drive, ending at Central Park.

Ambergris Caye celebrates Easter with religious processions, beach parties, and a kayak competition
The Easter festivities on San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye, provided several activities for those seeking to enjoy the annual holiday on the island. From the Passion of Christ play led by the San Pedro Catholic Church to recreational activities on the beach and the yearly kayak race to Secret Beach, San Pedro did not disappoint and welcomed hundreds of visitors over the weekend.

Island Emergency Services celebrates first anniversary
From the moment islander Abner Bacab became a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), he grew a project that later became Island Emergency Services (IES). The company, equipped with an ambulance, responds to medical emergencies on the island. On Sunday, April 10th, Bacab and his team celebrated their first anniversary in service with a health and family fair at the Boca del Rio beach park to commemorate this achievement.

A female beach football marathon was held over the weekend of April 2nd with the participation of four teams. The sporting event was part of a series of weekend events planned for the island at the Boca del Rio beach park.

Canary Cove staff and volunteers help to remodel Boca Del Rio Park
Canary Cove staff along with a group of volunteers helped in remodeling the Boca Del Rio Park located in San Pedro Town on Friday and Saturday, October 26th-27th. In addition to the remodeling of the park’s recreational equipment, The San Pedro Town Council is also a doing beach reclamation, where sand/material is being added to the front of the area that was lost due to erosion, "reclaiming" the shoreline that once was there.
