Island Athletes Depart for Central American Games in Guatemala
The 12th edition of the Central American Games is underway in Guatemala from October 14th to 30th, and Belize is proudly represented by a delegation of athletes from across the country. Among the 140-member team are San Pedro’s own Alexa Acosta, Kian Trejo, Julio Bardalez, and Johann Marin.

5K Glow Run Raises Awareness for Healthy Living
The community-based 501 Run Club hosted its third annual 5K Glow Run on Saturday, October 4th, at Central Park in San Pedro Town. The event attracted 105 participants of all ages, competing in both male and female categories. Every runner who completed the 3.1-mile course was recognized, and the top three finishers in each division received trophies.

Four athletes from San Pedro will represent Belize at the upcoming Central American Games in Guatemala from October 18th to 30th. They are former Miss San Pedro Alexa Acosta, Kian Trejo, Johann Marin, and Julio Bardalez, joining a national delegation of 140 athletes.

Island athletes shine at Belize City’s Annual Triathlon
Island athletes Kian Trejo, Kent "Bob" Gabourel, and Jesus "Levi" Contreras made their mark at this year's Belize City Triathlon, which took place on December 1st. Trejo earned second place in the Elite Male division, while Gabourel secured fourth. Contreras and his team also achieved first place in the Male Relay category.

Kian Trejo participates in regional sports forum in the Dominican Republic
Island athlete Kian Trejo and cyclist Alicia Thompson represented Belize at the third Panam Sports Continental Athletes Forum, held from November 21-23 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The event brought together 130 participants from 41 member countries to discuss various sports-related topics through conference sessions.

San Pedro Town Council Sports hosts Track and Field competition
On Saturday, September 7th, the San Pedro Town Council Sports hosted a track and field competition at the Ambergris Stadium for the first time. The races were held in the categories of Under-8 and Under-10, 10-12, 13-14, and 15-17, for both males and females. At the end of the activity, the top winners received medals, and the rest of the runners were acknowledged for their participation.

Kian Trejo appointed President of the Belize Olympic Committee Athletes’ Commission
Island athlete Kian Trejo has been appointed President of the Belize Olympic Committee Athletes’ Commission (BOCAC). The commission acts as the representative body for Belizean athletes within the Olympic movement. As the head of the group, Trejo is dedicated to bridging the gap between Belizean athletes and the National Olympic Committee, ensuring that concerns and aspirations are recognized and addressed nationally and globally.

Running enthusiasts participate in 501 Run Club’s 10k Road Race
On Saturday, August 31st, the 501 Run Club organized a 10k Road Race starting at 6AM as part of a two-day run series. The race route went from Central Park to El Pescador, north of the bridge and back. At the end of the six-mile race, the top three finishers for six divisions were given medals for their achievement.
