Prime Minister of Belize Meets with President of Cuba
The President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, accompanied by Cuba’s First Lady, Lis Cuesta, and Cuba’s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parilla, met with Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow, his wife Mrs. Kim Simplis Barrow, and Ambassador of Belize H.E. Annie Burns, in a frank and friendly exchange on areas of common interest. The group discussed challenges, achievements and cooperation between the countries.

On Monday, April 30th, 2018 at 10:00 am, there was a formal handing over of the funds raised by See and Taste Belize Inc. along with its partners, BELTRAIDE, BTB and NICH at the Inspiration Center, represented by Mrs. Kim Simplis Barrow, Special Envoy for Women and Children and foundress of the Inspiration Center.

BNTU protests against crime and violence in Belize; GOB not pleased
Due to an increase of crime and violence in the country, that has unjustly claimed the life of several women and children, the Belize National Teachers Union (BNTU) held a protest rally through the main streets of Belmopan City on Friday, March 23rd. However, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wilfred Elrington, at the budget debate on Friday, Mach 23rd stated he is not pleased with the actions taken by teachers of the country.
