On behalf of the Walji family, the management of Las Terrazas Resort and Residences handed over a donation of face masks and hand sanitizers to the Dr. Otto Rodriguez San Pedro Polyclinic II on Wednesday, April 7th. The donation consisted of 16 containers of hand sanitizer gel and over 200 facemasks.

The Waljis, based in Houston, Texas USA are the developers/founders of Las Terrazas. The donation was in the pipeline for some time, and the family is now happy that plans came to fruition, benefiting the local polyclinic, the main referral health center on the island. The polyclinic has been instrumental in the fight against the COVID-19 virus.

Nurse Beulah Waggon welcomed the donation which was presented by Las Terrazas General Manager Carolyn Lloyd and Front Office Manager Curl Bell. Waggon stated that the hand sanitizer will be used to for proper hand hygiene and the masks will be distributed to staff or anyone (patients) who need it.

The staff at the polyclinic thank the Walji family for this generous contribution as they continue to serve the island community with their limited resources. They took the opportunity to remind the public that proper hand sanitizing, mask-wearing, and social distancing are the best ways to combat COVID-19.
