First-Ever Little Miss San Pedro Pageant to Take Place on May 31
The San Pedro Lions Club is set to make history with the inaugural Little Miss San Pedro pageant, scheduled for Saturday, May 31st. This exciting event will feature five young contestants, aged 6 to 10, who will showcase their charm, talent, and advocacy for global causes supported by Lionism. The contestants are 8-year-old Valeria Garcia, sponsored by Caye International Bank; 7-year-old Tracy Muñoz, sponsored by Hidden Jewel Boutique Hotel;; 6-year-old Kaylin Maldonado, sponsored by Captain Sharks; 9-year-old Grace Rodriguez, sponsored by Nupalm Lounge; and 6-year-old Emma Lopez, sponsored by Caribbean Depot.

Gabriela Marin is Reina Del Carnaval 2025!
Carnaval in San Pedro Town is a vibrant and unique celebration held before Lent. Known for its colorful street parties and lively music, a distinctive tradition of Carnaval is painting one another, a hallmark of the festivities. Before the official celebration begins, the Reina del Carnaval Pageant is held to crown a queen who embodies the spirit of Carnaval. This year, the pageant occurred on Thursday, February 27th, starting at 8 PM at the San Pedro Lions Den.

SPHS crowns new Reina and Rey de la Banda
The San Pedro High School (SPHS) held the second edition of its annual Reina de la Banda Pageant on Saturday, February 18th, at the Angel Nuñez Auditorium. This year, a king was crowned alongside the queen for the first time. The event, a fundraiser for the school’s marching band, featured six contestants competing for the esteemed titles. After a thrilling night, Brier Wade was crowned Reina de la Banda, while Ernesto Bernardez became the first Rey de la Banda.

SATIIM expresses discontent over the use of Deer Dance Costume at the Miss Universe pageant
Following the Miss Universe pageant, the Sarstoon Temash Institute for Indigenous Management (SATIIM) expressed their discontent with the Maya Deer Dance costume used by Miss Universe Belize, Halima Hoy. In an open statement, SATIIM explained their disappointment with Hoy's performance and emphasized the significance of this traditional aspect of Maya culture. In response, Hoy stated that her performance aimed to highlight Belize's culture and legacy while also raising public awareness about climate change.

Miss Universe Belize Halima Hoy heads to 2024 Miss Universe Pageant in Mexico
On Tuesday, October 22nd, Miss Universe Belize Halima Hoy left the country to compete in the 73rd Miss Universe Pageant. This year, the prestigious pageant will occur on November 16, 2024, at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City. In her preparation for this event of a lifetime, Hoy has been working closely with her team to ensure a strong representation of Belize.

Deann Laing is the 79th Queen of the Bay; Miss Caye Caulker places second
During the 79th Queen of the Bay Pageant for 2024-2025, Deann Laing, aged twenty-two and representing the Rural Belize District, emerged as the winner from a diverse group of eleven contestants. The prestigious pageant, held on Saturday, August 24th, at the Belize Civic Center, was a true representation of the nation, with participants from around the country. The Caye’s were well represented, with Caye Caulker candidate Lupita Aldana securing the second position. Representing Ambergris Caye was Nai Figueroa, who gracefully represented San Pedro in the pageant.

Alexa Acosta crowned Miss San Pedro 2024-2025
On Saturday, August 3rd, under the theme ‘Belizean Jewels,’ Alexa Acosta was crowned as the new Miss San Pedro. Initially scheduled for June 29th but postponed due to bad weather, the pageant occurred at the Honorable Louis Sylvestre Sporting Arena and attracted a large crowd.
