San Pedro’s Ada Cordova takes coach training in FFB

Well-known instructor and trainer Ada Abagail Cordova, a coach for male and female football players in the age 7-16 age range, underwent training in Belmopan at the Football Federation of Belize (FFB) from July 15th through July 19th. The diploma course is formulated to strengthen techniques and develop expertise for coaches, focusing on national playing styles, game analysis, session planning, game model development, and coaching tips for improving game strategies and developing skills.

Bob Gabourel represents Belize at the Pan-American Masters Games in the USA

Cyclist Kent 'Bob' Gabourel and other Belizean athletes represented the country at the Pan-American Masters Games in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. The experienced cyclist and proud athlete representing the San Pedro community competed on Monday, July 15th, in a road race in the 40-44-year-old category. He finished the 29-lap criterium race in 41 minutes and 20 seconds, claiming fourth place in his division.

Mundialito Season kicks off with a Jersey Presentation and Parade

The anticipated 2024 Mundialito season is here again, starting with a short opening ceremony on Friday, July 12th, at the Ambergris Stadium, where participants were given jerseys and introduced to their coaches. On Saturday, July 13th, the seven participating teams were celebrated with a grand rally, welcoming one hundred and thirty-three players in this year's tournament with contestants aged 6-13. Teams participating in the intensifying match include Belize, Argentina, Brazil, France, Portugal, Germany, and Canada.

Salvadoran Team Rumba wins 2024 Grand Caribe Deep Sea Classic Fishing Tournament

The 8th annual Grand Caribe Deep Sea Classic Fishing Tournament occurred from Thursday, July 11th, through Sunday, July 14th. Team Rumba from El Salvador emerged as the winners and claimed the big trophy and a $135,000 cash prize. Team Miss Made secured second place, and Team Hunter B took home third place. This year's event was the largest tournament thus far, with 53 registered boats, including international teams.

National Amateur Interdistrict Championship rolls into quarterfinals

Get ready for a thrilling weekend as the National Amateur Interdistrict Championship (NAIC) enters its quarterfinal stage. On July 20th and 21st, four high-stakes football matches will unfold across the country. One of these intense battles will occur at Ambergris Stadium on Sunday, July 21st, pitting the island Football Clubs (FC), Terror Squad FC, and Conquerors FC, against each other. The game kicks off at 6:30 PM, promising an evening of heart-pounding action.

8-Ball Pool Tournament District Championships to be held this weekend

San Pedro has always been a vibrant community full of activities, with one of them being billiards (pool tournaments). The Belikin Stout National 8-Ball Tournament is gearing up to crown a District champion on Sunday, July 21st, at Casey’s Boatyard Bar and Grill at the San Pedrito entrance. The top team and the sub-champion will participate in the national championship set for August 3rd and 4th at the Angel Nuñez Auditorium.

Dennisa Pineda joins Senior National Football Team in a friendly match against Bermuda

20-year-old islander and footballer Dennisa Pineda joined the Senior National Female Football team in Belmopan City to face off against the national football team from Bermuda. The two friendly matches were scheduled for July 11th and 14th at the Football Federation of Belize Stadium. The island's goalkeeper and her team played their best, securing a 2 to 0 victory in their first match. However, Bermunda managed to claim a similar win in the second match.

San Pedro Volleyball Association hosts Summer Volleyball Program 2024

The San Pedro Volleyball Association hosted a sports summer program for males and females. The program offered a unique opportunity for young athletes to experience these benefits while honing their skills and preparing for future competitions. The sessions took place at Angle Nuñez Auditorium from July 1st to July 12th, with two daily sessions.
