Four athletes from San Pedro will represent Belize at the upcoming Central American Games in Guatemala from October 18th to 30th. They are former Miss San Pedro Alexa Acosta, Kian Trejo, Johann Marin, and Julio Bardalez, joining a national delegation of 140 athletes.

Miss San Pedro 2025–2026: Miley Chi Takes the Crown
Under this year’s oceanic theme, “Beauty and the Sea,” San Pedro crowned its newest beauty ambassador on Saturday, August 30, during the annual Miss San Pedro Pageant. Seventeen-year-old Miley Chi of the San Mateo subdivision captivated the audience. She impressed the judges, earning both the Miss Congeniality title and the coveted Miss San Pedro 2025–2026 crown.

Miss San Pedro 2025 Contestants Officially Sashed
On Thursday, July 31st, Ramon’s Village Beachfront provided a stunning backdrop for the launch of the Miss San Pedro 2025-2026 journey. The evening marked the highly anticipated sashing ceremony, where five contestants, Miley Chi, Ayana Negue, Karely Sho, Karisha Rubio, and Johanna Mas were officially introduced to the public alongside their sponsors.

Second Edition of the Fitness Island Tournament Puts San Pedro Athletes to the Test
From July 5th to 6th, a group of athletes gathered to participate in the second annual Fitness Island Tournament, organized by Miss San Pedro 2024-2025, Alexa Acosta. The event was held at the Angel Nuñez Auditorium at San Pedro High School, where male and female participants from various CrossFit gyms competed in the beginner and intermediate levels. Throughout the two-day event, athletes showcased their dedication and commitment to the fitness discipline. After the tournament, the top three athletes in each category were awarded.

Castillo’s Hardware celebrates 25 years of service to the San Pedro community
San Pedro’s well-known business, Castillo’s Do It Best Hardware Ltd, celebrated its 25th anniversary on Wednesday, February 19th. To commemorate this milestone, the management hosted an appreciation event, which included a raffle where 25 lucky customers could win $1,000 each, alongside other tokens of appreciation.

San Pedro welcomes 2025 with a big celebration on the beach
Residents and visitors of the island gathered at the central park in downtown San Pedro to bid farewell to 2024 and welcome the new year. The New Year’s festivities occurred on Tuesday, December 31st, and included an extravagant celebration organized by the San Pedro Town Council (SPTC). The event featured live performances, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display by the beach.

San Pedro Tourism Awards recognize outstanding island stakeholders in the industry
For the third consecutive year, several businesses that excel in the tourism industry were honored for their outstanding contributions to this vital sector in San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye. Councilor Ernesto Bardalez organizes the annual event, known as the "San Pedro Tourism Awards. " Bardalez, along with Mayor Gualberto "Wally" Nuñez and Area Representative Honorable Andre Perez, presented the awards to the winners at this year's gala.
