San Pedro Roman Catholic Primary School (SPRCS) held its annual Christmas Variety Show on Saturday, December 6th, filling the Rafael Angel Nuñez Auditorium at San Pedro High School with music, dances, and holiday storytelling. Parents, students, teachers, and community members gathered from 4PM onward to enjoy 29 performances from Infant One to Standard Six.

The anticipated celebration featured Christmas carols, singing, and dances, and drew families, locals, and visitors who also enjoyed a mini fair with refreshments and food at Central Park.

Government waives General Sales Tax for four days to help Christmas shoppers
The government has announced that on December 14th, 15th, 21st, and 22nd, local retail purchases will be exempt from the 12.5% General Sales Tax (GST). This exemption applies to goods purchased at grocery stores, supermarkets, hardware stores, and convenience stores. However, certain items, such as alcoholic beverages, vehicles, cigarettes, and gasoline, will not be exempt from the GST. Customers are encouraged to check their receipts to ensure they are not incorrectly charged. Establishments that violate this tax exemption on the specified dates will face penalties.

San Pedro’s Holiday Boat Parade is set for December 14th
After some uncertainty, the 2024 Holiday Lighted Boat Parade has been scheduled for Saturday, December 14th. The traditional event ushers in the holiday season, brightening the coast of San Pedro with twinkling lights, happy people, and Christmas galore. San Pedro Police Formation share the Christmas cheer
The Christmas Season continues in San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye, with the tradition of giving and hosting activities for those in need with presents and even a plate of food. Joining in this tradition of sharing was the San Pedro Police Formation, which, in partnership with SLK Xclusive Ltd, on Saturday, December 16th, distributed 300 toys and a plate of Bar-B-Que to children on the island.
