The San Pedro Marching Bands entertains island community during appreciation show
On Saturday, April 26th, the San Pedro Town Council hosted the highly anticipated Marching Bands Appreciation Show at Ambergris Stadium. This event was organized to honor the contributions of the marching bands from San Pedro Roman Catholic School (SPRCS) and San Pedro High School (SPHS) to the community spirit. It attracted large crowds of residents and visitors alike, who paid a small admission fee of $3, which was donated to the bands.

San Pedro welcomes 2025 with a big celebration on the beach
Residents and visitors of the island gathered at the central park in downtown San Pedro to bid farewell to 2024 and welcome the new year. The New Year’s festivities occurred on Tuesday, December 31st, and included an extravagant celebration organized by the San Pedro Town Council (SPTC). The event featured live performances, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display by the beach.

Ramon’s Village Resort, champions of the 2024 Inter-Office Football Tournament
The Inter-Office Football Tournament concluded on Sunday, December 22nd, culminating in an exciting match where Team Ramon’s Village Resort emerged as this year’s champions. The final game of the season took place at Ambergris Stadium, where football fans were entertained with two exhibition matches prior to the main event.

Team Germany wins the 2024 Mundialito Tournament
On Thursday, September 19th, Team Germany won their final match in the 2024 Mundialito Football Championship and earned the top trophy of the tournament. The final game day was held at the Ambergris Stadium and hosted by the San Pedro Town Council Sports. The tournament featured seven teams of children aged 6 to 13, who competed in a series of matches over the past three months. The tournament aims to promote healthy recreational activity for children during the summer break. The participating teams included Belize, Argentina, Brazil, Portugal, France, Canada, and Germany this year.

Island Football Academy starts receiving applications
Set to start on February 24th, the San Pedro Football Academy is now accepting registration applications for interested children. The sports project is open to all youth (male and female) ages 5-13, and registration starts on January 28th, which includes two sets of jerseys, one for training and the other for the scheduled matches.

San Pedro welcomes 2024 with a lively and fun celebration
The annual activities to usher in the New Year in San Pedro saw many island residents heading to the Honourable Louis Sylvester Sporting Complex to welcome 2024. The yearly extravaganza organized by the San Pedro Town Council (SPTC) included an entertainment program featuring locals Deejays (DJ), one of Belize's popular bands, Gilharry 7, and a spectacular fireworks display.

Dia de San Pedro festivities crown new queen; delights thousands with local and international entertainment
During the 2023 Dia de San Pedro festivities, islanders welcomed a new beauty ambassador. The extravaganza opened with the anticipated Miss San Pedro Pageant on Friday, June 30th. Among the five young ladies vying for the title, 22-year-old Mariel Calderon, sponsored by Caribeña Enterprises, was selected as the next island queen and was crowned by outgoing Miss San Pedro Faith Edgar. The festival ended with a spectacular show on Saturday with entertainers from Belize, Mexico, and international talent, DJ Wuazat.

Island Football Youth League ends with two champions
On Sunday, May 7th, the football teams Young Stars FC and Benifica FC became champions in the U-15 and U-17 divisions, respectively, following the San Pedro Football Youth League championship games. The tournament saw eight teams competing to be the best in each category while developing their talents in the sport.
