SPHS Celebrates “Golden Gala: A Night of Endless Elegance” at Prom 2025
San Pedro High School (SPHS) hosted its highly anticipated Prom 2025 on Friday, May 30th, under the theme “Golden Gala: A Night of Endless Elegance.” The Angel Nuñez Auditorium was transformed into a glamorous venue for the graduating class, marking the close of their high school journey. The event began shortly after 7PM and featured a dazzling display of gowns, tuxedos, and creative attire, with students confidently walking the red carpet to the admiration of spectators and judges.

Faith Edgar to represent San Pedro at 2025 Miss World Belize Pageant
San Pedro’s own Faith Edgar is set to represent Belize nationally as the delegate for Miss World Belize 2025 this June. More than just a beauty queen, Edgar embodies a mission-driven spirit that seeks to redefine the role of pageantry in Belize by blending compassion, education, and community service.

Belize Mission Dental project back in San Pedro
A team of dental specialists and volunteers, mainly from the United States of America (USA), visited San Pedro Town to provide services to those needing them at no cost. The team of specialists, called the Belize Mission Project, visits every year, and this time, the group of dentists in San Pedro was joined by two islanders in the dentistry field.

Mundialito Football Tournament starts in San Pedro
On Thursday, July 21st, the San Pedro Town Council Sports officially started the 2022 Mundialito Football Tournament on the island. The sporting competition will see six teams, Brazil, Argentina, Belize, Costa Rica, Mexico, and the United States, competing. The teams consist of children between the ages of 5 to 14. The games will take place every week at the Ambergris Stadium.

Official sashing ceremony held to introduce this year’s Miss San Pedro contestants
The official sashing ceremony introducing the Miss San Pedro Pageant candidates was held the traditional way on Monday, June 6th, after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The pageant was virtually held last year. Held on Trigger Fish Street next to the El Fogon Restaurant, the presentation of the four lovely young ladies vying for the title included a fashion show with the participants gracing the stage.
