The Labour Department branch in San Pedro Town held a job preparedness training on Tuesday, August 16th, at the San Pedro Town Council conference room. The informative session was to prepare those in the labour sector on how to prepare for a job interview, become familiar with the duties of the job, and how to get hired.

Wages dispute between SPTC and former employees continues
The dispute between former San Pedro Town Council (SPTC) employees and the new administration continues over monies allegedly due. The past employees claim they have not been paid their severance packages as mandated by law.

Terminated employees to file lawsuit against SPTC; Mayor ready to go to court if needed
The current San Pedro Town administration could end up in court as 15 former employees contemplate a lawsuit against the administration. The former employees claim they did not receive their proper severance package when terminated after the new administration took office. They now seek legal advice to collect what they believe is due. However, the SPTC said they are ready to go to court because they have compensated them accordingly and do not intend to pay them any additional moneys.
