San Pedro BTIA chapter elects new board at Annual General Meeting
The island chapter of the Belize Tourism Industry Association San Pedro (BTIA) has a new Board of Directors. The new members were selected at the Black and White Garifuna Restaurant and Cultural Center during their annual general meeting on Tuesday, January 17th.

The San Pedro Sun celebrates 30 year anniversary!
According to owner, editor Tamara Sniffin, this is a huge milestone for the paper she and her husband Ron have owned and operated for more than half of its life. “It is a great honor to be part of a community institution like The San Pedro Sun. Owning a community newspaper comes with great responsibility and commitment, regardless of the challenges we may face. We embrace those who have supported us along the way and are thankful to be part of their success through featured articles and advertising. One year later: Organizers reflect on BIG GARBAGE CLEAN UP Campaign
It has been one year since the San Pedro Chapter of the Belize Tourism Industry Association (SP BTIA) along with the American Crocodile Education Sanctuary (ACES) and the San Pedro Town Council (SPTC) organized the biggest clean-up campaign on the island to date. Held from November 9 to 12, 2018, the clean-up campaign aimed to raise awareness on the improper garbage disposal on Ambergris Caye.

The San Pedro BTIA chapter is organizing a public “For the Love of San Pedro” rally for June 7th, 6PM, SPHS Auditorium, to meet with government and police officials and find solutions to the escalating crime on Ambergris Caye.
