The San Pedro Lions Club delivers turkey dinners to senior citizens at home instead of hosting annual Christmas party

For the first time, the highly anticipated Senior Citizens’ Christmas party, organized every year by the San Pedro Lions Club, was cancelled due to COVID-19. Instead of hosting them at their Den on Barrier Reef Drive for a fun evening, on Thursday, December 17th, the Lions prepared and delivered 100 plates of food along with gift bags to a select number of the island seniors.

The elders were visited at their homes and handed a delicious turkey dinner plate with all the trimmings. With smiles, they received the food and presents and thanked the Lions for remembering them.

The festivity is usually full of entertainment, with music provided by either a DJ or San Pedro’s number one band, Rompe Raja! Many of the seniors look forward to the event each year to socialize and dance the night away.

Thanks to the kind participation of donors and volunteers who continue to support this activity, the event was possible. The San Pedro Lions Club expresses gratitude to all those who donated, cooked, packed and delivered the presents and meals to San Pedro’s senior citizens
