Five Champion Teams crowned at Volleyball Tournament finals

On Sunday, December 8th, the opening season of the San Pedro Volleyball Indoor Tournament concluded with a final round of matches that crowned male and female champions in the Junior and Senior divisions as well as COED champions. The games commenced at 4PM at the Angel Nuñez Auditorium, where a crowd of fans gathered to support their favorite teams.

The San Pedro Pirates finish as sub-champions of 2024-2025 PBL Opening Season

Despite defeating Port Layola 2-1 in game two of the Premier League of Belize (PLB) finals on Sunday, December 8th, the San Pedro Pirates could not secure the league’s opening season championship. Port Layola, having achieved a 4-2 aggregate score after their 3-0 victory over the Pirates on December 7th, won the championship for the second time, claiming the 2024-2025 opening season trophy.

Volleyball Indoor Tournament heading to finals

The opening season of the San Pedro Volleyball Indoor Tournament will conclude this Sunday, December 8th, at the Angel Nuñez Auditorium. The final rounds of matches will feature teams competing in the Junior category, followed by COED, and finishing with the Senior divisions. The games will start promptly at 4PM.

San Pedro Buccaneers participates in Hockey Tournament in Mexico

The San Pedro Buccaneers, a ball hockey team, participated in an international tournament in Playa Del Carmen on November 15th and 16th. Teams from Mexico and Canada joined the competition, which was opened with a lively performance by a mariachi band and a welcome address from the Mexican Minister of Sport.

Annual Turkey Trot raises funds for Hope Haven

San Pedro Town started the Thanksgiving celebrations with the sixth annual Turkey Trot, held on Thursday, November 28th, at Boca del Rio Beach Park. The 5K (3.1 miles) run or walk raises funds for the island’s non-profit organization and orphanage, Hope Haven.

Kian Trejo participates in regional sports forum in the Dominican Republic

Island athlete Kian Trejo and cyclist Alicia Thompson represented Belize at the third Panam Sports Continental Athletes Forum, held from November 21-23 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The event brought together 130 participants from 41 member countries to discuss various sports-related topics through conference sessions.
