The island squad traveled to Belize City on Sunday, February 16th, determined to bring home a victory. However, they faced a formidable Port Layola team and lost the match 3-1.

San Pedro Pirates fall short against Progresso
Progresso Football Club (FC) brought an electrifying match to the island on Saturday, February 8th, defeating the San Pedro Pirates FC 2-1 in an intense battle during Week 4 of the Premier League of Belize (PLB) Closing Season. The game took place at Ambergris Stadium, where hundreds of island residents came out to support the Pirates, adding to the excitement of the match.

The San Pedro Roman Catholic School (SPRCS) male football team is the Belize District Bishop's Cup champions for the second consecutive year. The island boys competed against other Roman Catholic primary schools in the annual tournament.

San Pedro’s Erick Rodriguez joins National U17 Football Team in Mexico
The Belize National U17 Football Team traveled to Toluca, Mexico, to prepare for the 2025 Confederation of North, Central America, and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) U17 qualifiers, which begin on Friday, February 7th. The young Belizean team, known as the Jaguars, will compete in Group C against Mexico, Nicaragua, Barbados, and Dominica.

San Pedro Town Council Sports launches Basketball Academy
The San Pedro Town Council's Sports Department is launching a new basketball academy to develop local talent and promote the sport among the youth in San Pedro Town. This initiative comes after recent investments in sports infrastructure, including renovating the basketball court at Boca del Rio Beach Park, which was completed in partnership with RE/MAX Belize Real Estate. This renovation provides a modern and safe environment for young athletes to train and compete in the first-ever San Pedro Basketball Academy.

Island athlete part of Belize’s U17 Women’s National Team in Qualifiers in Trinidad and Tobago
Alysha Reymundo represented Belize alongside the U17 Women’s National Team in Trinidad and Tobago's 2025 CONCACAF Women’s Qualifiers. The Belize team, the Lady Jaguars, won one of three scheduled matches. They competed in Group B alongside host Trinidad and Tobago, Honduras, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
