San Pedro’s Annual Indoor Volleyball Tournament begins
The 8th annual San Pedro Indoor Volleyball Tournament opened at the San Pedro High School Auditorium on Sunday, September 22nd, from 4 to 7PM. Coach Erick Santizo organized the event, which featured a diverse group of participants, including five female teams under 15, six male teams under 15, four COED teams, three female senior teams, and four male senior teams. This ensured that everyone had a chance to participate and showcase their skills.

Team Germany wins the 2024 Mundialito Tournament
On Thursday, September 19th, Team Germany won their final match in the 2024 Mundialito Football Championship and earned the top trophy of the tournament. The final game day was held at the Ambergris Stadium and hosted by the San Pedro Town Council Sports. The tournament featured seven teams of children aged 6 to 13, who competed in a series of matches over the past three months. The tournament aims to promote healthy recreational activity for children during the summer break. The participating teams included Belize, Argentina, Brazil, Portugal, France, Canada, and Germany this year.

Belize well represented at Roatan’s XXV International Fishing Tournament
14 Belizean fishing teams participated in the 25th Annual Roatan International Fishing Tournament in Roatan Island, Honduras. Notably, eight Belizean teams secured positions on the Billfish scoreboard, and San Pedro’s "Just One More" fishing team claimed the first-place prize in the Rodeo category. Also bringing home a trophy was islander Carla Rodriguez from team Lucky Strike, who was honored as the top angler in the female category.

The event, organized by 501 Belize Promotions Ltd, attracted a significant audience who witnessed eight fights featuring fighters from San Pedro Town, mainland Belize, Honduras, and Guatemala.

The island’s premier football club is now preparing for another home match set for Friday, September 20th, against Team Bandits, which could potentially shape the course of the season.

On Friday, September 13th, the Mundialito Football Tournament's second and final semi-final round was held at 5PM at the Ambergris Stadium. Four teams competed: Germany, Argentina, Belize, and Brazil. The matches were intense as the young football players strove to score goals and earn points for a chance to compete in the ultimate showdown. With the semi-finals over, the Championship match is scheduled for Thursday, September 19th. The first game determines the third-place winner, and the second game will be anticipated finals.

On Saturday, September 14th, football fans enjoyed an exciting, friendly match between San Pedro Veterans and Chetumal Veterans from Mexico. The players, aged between 40 and 50, showcased their impressive football skills, delighting the audience. After an intense game, the visiting team narrowly defeated the island veterans with a score of 1-0.
