Child Stimulation Month closes with colorful parade

Child Stimulation Month ended on Friday, March 31st, with a parade across the main street of San Pedro Town. Celebrated annually during March, Child Stimulation Month aims to educate and advocate for early childhood education. This year's activities embraced the theme, "We are strong, learning, and growing."

Rotary Club of Ambergris Caye making a difference at Brighter Tomorrow Preschool in San Pedrito

Over the past weeks, club volunteers have helped replace a fence and gate, painting and replacing items in the playground. According to them, the school needed a lot of assistance, which Rotarian Rafael Torres brought to the club’s attention. According to Marisa Willment, managing the project, after speaking to the school’s administration, teacher Ariani Gongora and Javier Gongora, the principal and owner of Brighter Tomorrow, decided to forge ahead and work on it getting donations and volunteers on board.

Child Stimulation Month underway

Every year March is designated Child Stimulation Month, and the event opens with a festive parade with the participation of the island’s pre-schools, parents, and teachers. This year, no such parade occurred due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. Still, pre-schools across the island are hosting many activities designed to stimulate the talents and interest of their young students under the theme "We are strong, learning and growing."

A festive parade through the main streets of San Pedro Town signaled the start of Child Stimulation Month on Monday, March 2nd.

Graduation season continues on Ambergris Caye

A total of 12 students received their primary schools diplomas and will move on to the high school level, while 89 youngster received their Preschool certificates and will enter the primary school level.

Island Preschoolers host Art Exhibition in San Pedro Town

As part of Child Stimulation Month activities, island preschoolers organized an art exhibit under this year’s theme: “Hug me, Listen to me, Read with me, Help me Grow!” at the San Pedro House of Culture (SPHC) from Wednesday, March 13th to Thursday, March 14th. Participants included the San Pedro Preschool, ABC Preschool, Isla Bonita Preschool, San Pedro Shining Stars Preschool, Brighter Tomorrow Preschool, Holy Cross Preschool and Little Angel’s Preschool.
