On Monday, May 20th, a vibrant sense of community and shared pride filled the air as students from different preschools, primary schools, and secondary schools gathered at the San Pedro edition of the Belize National Festival of Arts Annual Show. The event, which started at 9AM and ended at 12:30PM, was a testament to the rich artistic heritage of our island. Held at the Sage Brush Church in San Pedro Town, the event drew many residents eager to celebrate island students' talents.

On Friday, March 01st, island preschoolers, along with their teachers, parents, and guardians, celebrated the great significance of early childhood education with a festive and dynamic parade through the main streets of the Ambergris Caye, signaling the start of Child Stimulation Month. This year's activity embraced the "Magic Garden of Skills, Watch Us Bloom" theme.

Rotary Club of Ambergris Caye completes project at Brighter Tomorrow Preschool
The renovation works at the Brighter Tomorrow Preschool in the San Pedrito subdivision by volunteers, and members of the Rotary Club of Ambergris Caye are complete. The preschool now counts with renovated grounds and new supplies for students and classrooms. The special occasion was celebrated on Monday, April 3rd, which included refreshments and the acknowledgment of those involved in the project.

Celebrated annually during March, Child Stimulation Month aims to educate and advocate for early childhood education. Rotary Club of Ambergris Caye making a difference at Brighter Tomorrow Preschool in San Pedrito
Over the past weeks, club volunteers have helped replace a fence and gate, painting and replacing items in the playground. According to them, the school needed a lot of assistance, which Rotarian Rafael Torres brought to the club’s attention. According to Marisa Willment, managing the project, after speaking to the school’s administration, teacher Ariani Gongora and Javier Gongora, the principal and owner of Brighter Tomorrow, decided to forge ahead and work on it getting donations and volunteers on board.

Every year March is designated Child Stimulation Month, and the event opens with a festive parade with the participation of the island’s pre-schools, parents, and teachers. This year, no such parade occurred due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. Still, pre-schools across the island are hosting many activities designed to stimulate the talents and interest of their young students under the theme "We are strong, learning and growing."
