Official sashing ceremony held to introduce this year’s Miss San Pedro contestants
The official sashing ceremony introducing the Miss San Pedro Pageant candidates was held the traditional way on Monday, June 6th, after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The pageant was virtually held last year. Held on Trigger Fish Street next to the El Fogon Restaurant, the presentation of the four lovely young ladies vying for the title included a fashion show with the participants gracing the stage.

Michelle Estrella Nuñez successfully completed a Bachelors's Degree in Social Work and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Belize on October 23rd. The former island beauty ambassador shared her joy of achieving such a milestone in her education, driven by her passion for empowering young girls in San Pedro Town.

Cancer warrior Xavier ‘Iggy’ Howells visits Belize
Two years ago, Xavier ‘Iggy’ Howells was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a cancer of the muscle tissue. Howells’ bravery in battling the deadly disease was rewarded with a visit to Belize. Made possible by Make-a-Wish Foundation, which provides wishes for terminally ill patients.

Five lovely young ladies vying for the title of Miss San Pedro 2019-2020 were presented to their sponsors during an official sashing ceremony at El Patio Restaurant and Lounge on Wednesday, August 21st. The contestants have now begun their journey to become the island’s next beauty ambassador.

The five contestants vying for the title of Miss San Pedro 2019-2020 are: Eileen Reyes, Tanisha Rhaburn, Litzy Guillen, Helen Barrera and Blanca Velasquez. The pageant is set for September 7th at the Hon. Louis Sylvestre Stadium.

19-year-old Chelsea Muñoz became San Pedro’s 55th beauty ambassador after being selected Miss San Pedro 2018-2019 on Saturday, September 1st during the annual pageant.

Miss San Pedro 2018 contestants involved in traffic accident in Mexico
The accident occurred around midnight, when the van carrying the contestants and chaperones were hit by a Toyota vehicle near the intersection at Federal Reforma-Puerto Juarez, Kilometre 82. No major injuries were sustained.
