Organized by the San Pedro Town Council, the vibrant procession began in Boca del Rio and wound through the island’s main streets under clear evening skies.

Miss San Pedro Pageant Celebrates 70 Years of Island Pageantry
It was a memorable evening on Saturday, November 29th, as San Pedro Town celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Miss San Pedro Pageant. The commemorative event highlighted memorable moments from the island’s flagship pageant, which began in 1955. Many former beauty ambassadors attended the reunion, including the very first Miss San Pedro, Leni Aguilar Alamilla.

Island Honours 227th Battle of St. George’s Caye Anniversary
On Wednesday, September 10th, the 227th anniversary of the Battle of St. George’s Caye was observed in San Pedro with a uniform parade and a short civic ceremony at Central Park. Festivities began the evening before with the traditional fire engine parade. The Battle of St. George’s Caye is a defining moment in Belize’s history.

Second Edition of the Fitness Island Tournament Puts San Pedro Athletes to the Test
From July 5th to 6th, a group of athletes gathered to participate in the second annual Fitness Island Tournament, organized by Miss San Pedro 2024-2025, Alexa Acosta. The event was held at the Angel Nuñez Auditorium at San Pedro High School, where male and female participants from various CrossFit gyms competed in the beginner and intermediate levels. Throughout the two-day event, athletes showcased their dedication and commitment to the fitness discipline. After the tournament, the top three athletes in each category were awarded.

Castillo’s Hardware celebrates 25 years of service to the San Pedro community
San Pedro’s well-known business, Castillo’s Do It Best Hardware Ltd, celebrated its 25th anniversary on Wednesday, February 19th. To commemorate this milestone, the management hosted an appreciation event, which included a raffle where 25 lucky customers could win $1,000 each, alongside other tokens of appreciation.

In Belize, the month of September is a time of vibrant celebration honoring two important events in the nation's history. This year's theme, "A Nation Proud and Free: Belize @ 43," commemorates the 226th anniversary of the Battle of St. George’s Caye Day and the 43rd anniversary of Belize’s Independence. The Battle of St. George’s Caye Day is celebrated on September 10th and honors the efforts of the Baymen and slaves who repelled a Spanish invasion.

Miss San Pedro 2023-2024, Mariel Calderon, would like to invite young ladies between the ages of 17 and 27 to apply for the position of Miss San Pedro 2024-2025. They can do so at the San Pedro Town Council during office hours from 8AM to 5PM.
