Letter to the Editor: Garbage is killing our Crocodiles

Share

Dear Editor,

Woke up yesterday morning to see this beautiful creature with this on her back.

People pick up your garbage! Remember when San Pedro was a simple fishing village and people took pride in their surroundings. Truly Las Lagrimas del Cocodrilo (tears of the crocodile)! Terry and I went in the water and cleaned up the whole area behind our house to the boundaries of La Sirene, (which has become an uncontrolled trash heap).
We sent you this to share in your paper because this truly is what has become of Ambergris today. ☹
Please help discourage the use of non-biodegradable single use plastic containers!!
“Don’t it always seem to be, that you don’t know what you’ve got til’ it’s gone. Paved paradise and put up a parking lot.”

Sincerely,
Jo-Ann and Terry Monroe
Far South Ambergris Caye
